Design Studio™ Roman Shades
The Roman Shade is a beautifully simple window fashion that comprises one piece of fabric that folds as it lifts. In the Design Studio, you can customize your Roman Shades by choosing one of three looks: The flat fold, which is a more traditional style, has no horizontal seams; it lies flat when lowered and creates folds when raised. The flat fold works great with fabrics with large, bold patterns or stripes. The batten front, which adds a bit of contemporary feel, has horizontal pleats at regular intervals. The batten front shade works best with solid or textured fabrics. The batten back, the third variation, has pleats in the back, which creates a tailored look when lowered and a traditional folded look when raised. The batten front shades work best with solid fabrics or subtle patterns or textures.
Additional Options
To hide lift strings, control light, and add more insulation, you can add a lining (which is available in a blackout fabric for a bedroom, a media room, or anywhere else you want a lot of darkness). You can also look at coordinating accent pieces such as a flat valance, side panels, or drapery. Plus, with the Design Studio, you’ll find many fabric options you can buy in Accents by the Yard, so you’ll have extra fabric to create finishing touches such as throw pillows.
