Custom Drapery & Hardware

Custom Drapery & Hardware, Drape Motorization, Design Los Angeles

Nothing deepens the drama and richness of a room like custom drapery & hardware. At F&R Interiors, we are dedicated to helping you create the design aesthetic that perfectly embodies your tastes and vision for your space. Combining products such as blinds or shades with custom draperies adds a polished, romantic, and deeply indulgent look.

Drapes are beyond just fabric hanging beside your windows. Custom draperies are an incredible way to express yourself through your windows. These curtains create personality and emotion within a room, completely changing the impression of the space in as long as it takes to install the treatment. We will work with you to discuss your current design and your vision for your space so we can help you choose the window treatment elements that are perfect for your home.

OUR MOST POPULAR STYLES

Pleated Draperies

Pleated Draperies

Whether classic or updated, pleated drapes feature traditional stiffening in the headers that allows them to be shaped into neat, crisp pleats. Mount with any of our hardware collections; we’ll pre-place drapery pins for traversing hardware, or use rings on any non-traversing hardware styles. Various styles include double-pinched pleats, pencil pleats, goblet pleats, box pleats, butterfly pleats, and cartridge pleats. Pleated panels are a classic style of drapery and so never really go out of fashion, although their popularity rises and falls with current trends.

Ripple-Fold Draperies

Rippled Draperies

Soft ripple-like folds flow smoothly from one end of the track to the other. The effect is gently tailored – suitable for either commercial or residential installations. Master carriers that butt together and carriers that swivel eliminate “flat” drapery areas. The folds are just as beautiful outside the building as they are within. Headings, suspended under the track, cannot tip or sag. They are always perfectly positioned and spaced. Ripple-fold draperies are beautiful and functional at the same time.

Grommet Draperies

Grommet drapes have gained in popularity over the years. Grommets are used at the top of a drapery panel. Because the drapery rod is exposed, these type of drapes are commonly used with an attractive rod with decorative finials at the end. Grommet panels easily slide along the rod and fall into neat and clean folds. Perfect for French doors, sliding doors, or anywhere you want flexibility of opening and closing the panels. Grommet draperies are a beautiful, functional, and durable solution for any room in your home.

Sheer Draperies

Depending on your preferences for light control, privacy, style, and outdoor view, a sheer drapery can be beautiful alone or as a layer under a heavier drapery fabric. Sheer fabrics are usually lightweight and made from polyester, cotton, linen, gauze, silk chiffon, and chenille. The see-through material offers a soft, natural, light-filtering effect from the sun. Adding sheer fabric draperies will add interest to a plain window without sacrificing the view.

Lace Drapery

Just the mention of lace draperies brings the thought of timeless elegance and sophistication to any home décor. Lace fabrics come in a variety of weights, patterns, weaves, and colors; however, white and ivory seem to be the most popular choices. Today, most lace fabric is made from polyester and is machine-washable, so lace drapery can be easily maintained. They also seem to provide a bit more privacy, since the lace panels tend to be more textured than a standard sheer drapery.

Blackout Draperies

Blackout Drapes
Learn More +

While every F&R Interior product allows you some measure of light control, some products offer more room-darkening benefits than others. A key consideration is fabric/material type and color. Sheer fabrics typically soften and filter sunlight, while semi-opaque and opaque versions almost completely block sunlight. We say “almost” because these fabrics and materials darken a room but do not entirely eliminate light. As you browse our product collection, look for Privacy & Light Control details listed under Specifications. Fabrics and materials designated as “semi-opaque” (or a rating of 4 or higher) will offer you room-darkening benefits.

Drapery Lining Options

Drapery Linings

Drapery lining is used for a variety of reasons, both practical and aesthetic. The most common use for drapery lining is to block out the light. In hot and cold climates, insulating drapery lining is used to help save on heating and cooling costs, as well as dampen noise. Lining fabric can range from light-filtering to blackout. Fabrics are usually made from poly-cotton blends or are 100% polyester or 100% cotton and usually come in white, ivory, and black. So if you have a favorite fabric, but want the benefits of a blackout drape, adding a drapery lining is the perfect option.
